Deliberately small.
NADA stays small so judgement, responsibility and experience stay with the work. When a project needs other expertise, we bring in the right collaborators and build the team around what the project requires.
Nothing without purpose.
Nothing without listening.
Nothing that does not belong.
Nothing that fails to create lasting value.
Nothing that avoids responsibility.
Nothing that serves style before understanding.
Nothing that values expression above responsibility.
Nothing that asks a place to become something it is not.
Nothing that places architecture before people.
Nothing more than is needed.
Nothing less than what truly matters.
Nothing begins from nothing
NADA.
Every project inherits something.
A place. A climate. A building. Materials. Trees. Infrastructure. Memories. Previous decisions. Ways of living and working. Alongside these come new needs and competing demands: more space, less cost, better comfort, changing lives, a changing climate and expectations for what the place might become.
We begin there.
Not everything should be preserved, and not everything needs to be replaced. Our role is to determine what has value, what can change, what deserves attention and where something new can make a genuine contribution.
Then we turn those decisions into architecture.
By doing what matters.
You know your lives, organisations and ambitions in ways that we cannot without you.
Architecture brings another kind of knowledge: How to uncover possibilities, understand consequences, test alternatives and turn needs and values into physical decisions.
Neither replaces the other.
Good architecture comes from bringing them together — including the moments when assumptions need to be questioned or disagreement produces a better answer.
NADA is the continuation of Andrew Noonan Architect.
NADA stays small so judgement, responsibility and experience stay with the work. When a project needs other expertise, we bring in the right collaborators and build the team around what the project requires.
Andrew has led complex projects across London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Sydney and Brisbane, spanning civic, cultural, commercial, health, hospitality, sport and residential work.
His work extends into architectural education and professional leadership. Andrew is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and Adjunct at the University of Canberra School of Architecture.
Regenerative design, Green Star, Passive House, Living Futures and sustainability leadership training inform the way NADA approaches comfort, resources, climate and long-term value.
That breadth of experience comes directly into each project — to understand what matters, make sense of complexity and turn it into architecture.
More is not
the measure
of better.
Architecture has become very good at adding.
More space. More material. More technology. More performance. More features. More expression.
Sometimes more is exactly what is needed.
Sometimes the better decision is to retain, repair, adapt, simplify or remove.
Enough is not about doing less.
It is about knowing what is worth doing.
Every project begins differently.
A conversation is enough.
